Bangalow Theatre Company Announces Major New Artistic Collaboration with Eddie Perfect and Brunswick Picture House

Bangalow Theatre Company is thrilled to announce an extraordinary new creative partnership with renowned Australian composer, performer, and writer Eddie Perfect, alongside the iconic Brunswick Picture House, to present a bold reimagining of Perfect’s acclaimed musical Vivid White, running 19th to 28th March 2026.

Best known internationally as the Tony-nominated writer and composer of Broadway’s Beetlejuice the Musical and King Kong, Eddie Perfect returns to Australian stages with an exhilarating and daring work that is both hilarious and provocative. Described as a post-apocalyptic real estate musical, Vivid White first premiered with Melbourne Theatre Company in 2017. Since that initial season, Perfect has reimagined the work, reshaping its script, characters, and score in creative development with Bangalow Theatre Company, creating an entirely fresh and thrilling new iteration for 2026 audiences.

Directed by award-winning director Anouska Gammon, this new production brings together a daring and exceptional cast drawn from the Northern Rivers’ remarkable pool of artists and performers. Combining satire, heart, and biting wit, Vivid White explores ambition, survival, desire, and the absurdity of the world we find ourselves in through music theatre at its most inventive and powerful.

“This is a landmark moment for theatre in our region,” says Gammon. “Working alongside Eddie and our extraordinary cast has been electrifying. Audiences are in for something truly unforgettable.”

The production will be staged at Brunswick Picture House, one of Australia’s most loved and distinctive performance venues, providing the perfect setting for this adventurous new musical theatre event. With anticipation already building, tickets are in strong demand.

In July 2021, BTC were the only creative body in NSW (and maybe the world) to be putting on a live production! After a mammoth 2 years of stop/start Covid rollercoastering, we did it! RENT was an epic moment in time for our young company of brave artists! A sell out season - and so many amazing memories. The brilliant light during dark times…
